Make it easy to reach

Use a notebook, a card box or a simple digital note that you will actually open. Give each entry a clear meal name and list the ingredients you used. If you followed a published recipe, record its source so you can return to the original instructions.

Record the useful details

Note what suited your kitchen: the pan, the quantities, the preparation order and the changes you would make. Avoid relying on memory for important preparation instructions. A brief, clear entry is easier to use on a busy evening than a long account of the entire meal.

Build a small collection

Start with a few meals you already enjoy. Add another when you find something worth repeating. Over time the notebook becomes a practical reflection of how you cook, not a collection of meals you think you ought to make. Leave room for changing tastes and different seasons.
